The Obstetrics Department at CHI St. Joseph's Health in Dickinson is dedicated to helping you prepare for and experience the delivery of your new baby.  Our staff will also teach you newborn care techniques during your hospital stay. Obstetrics at St. Joseph's promotes a style of care in which your baby can be with you in your room as much as you like. We believe in a caring, family-focused program with one-on-one instruction. We encourage the entire family to participate in the care of the baby with hands-on demonstrations.

The Obstetrics staff is experienced and committed to the health and comfort for you and your new baby.

  • CHI St. Joseph's Health has a Level II Nursery, which means it cares for babies that are born at approximately 35 weeks gestation or older and can care for babies needing supplemental oxygen, an IV, and close monitoring.
  • Once you have recovered from labor & delivery, you and your baby will be moved to a postpartum recovery room for the rest of your stay.
