Last month, the March of Dimes, Department of Health, First Lady Betsy Dalrymple, the ND Hospital Association and the ND Medical Association invited all birthing hospitals in the state to demonstrate their success and commitment to eliminate non-medically indicated deliveries before 39 weeks gestation. CHI St. Joseph's Health has met all criteria toward this quality improvement measure.
Of this accomplishment, State Program Director of March of Dimes Reba Mathern-Jacobson, MSW, stated, "Congratulations on the great work of St. Joseph’s to eliminate non-medically indicated deliveries before 39 weeks gestational age! We greatly appreciate your team’s commitment in pledging to provide perinatal safety."
In 2014, 611 babies were delivered at CHI St. Joseph's Health in Dickinson, a number that has been steadily increasing since the mid-2000s.
