CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson has entered into a partnership with Valley Med Flight, which will base a Eurocopter AS350 B3e helicopter on the hospital’s helipad in Dickinson starting in the fall of 2014. Valley Med Flight will lease the helipad site and space for a hangar from CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, located adjacent to the new hospital’s Emergency Department wing.
Valley Med Flight’s Eurocopter aircraft will be capable of assisting local first responders, EMS, fire, and law enforcement by responding to motor vehicle accidents, oil field injuries, and any other scene response needs as well as helipad-to-helipad patient transportation. In addition, CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson will be utilizing Valley Med Flight’s fixed-wing air medical services for long-distance transports and during inclement weather.
Valley Med Flight currently operates fixed-wing aircraft bases in Grand Forks, Williston and Sidney and manages the helicopter aircraft base at CHI St. Alexius Health Williston. Valley Med Flight is owned and managed by Air Medical Resource Group (AMRG). AMRG is the fourth largest air medical provider in the nation and currently transports more than 11,000 patients per year.
